This is a rare opportunity to hear from a peace activist who resides at Gwangjeong Peace Village on Jeju Island, South Korea. There, activists have been resisting a naval base and its ideological and ecological damage for more than a decade, fighting alongside radical Catholic clergy. Dr. Leuning conducted his doctoral research in Gwangjeong Village and relocated permanently after finishing his Ph.D. Following a brief talk, Dr. Leuning will stay for enlightening conversation, and light refreshments will be served.
