The Life, Peace & Justice Ministry Fair was a success
SDCW volunteers had a lovely time at the Fair this weekend. The East Lawn of The Immaculata, on the University of San Diego campus, was lined with about 20 tables from local peace and justice organizations. At our tables, we could hear the beautiful sounds of mass, and each time the congregation was dismissed, we received floods of people interested in our work. There were many people who arrived only to attend the Fair, but those mighty swells of congregants were very invigorating.
The people who arrived at our table left with a purple tote bag filled with a copy of our newspaper, a brochure, and a timeline celebrating our 50 years in San Diego. Many people signed up to donate clothes or attend out future events.
Aside from speaking with attendees, we very much enjoyed meeting other local organizations. There are many volunteers performing wonderful works of mercy throughout our city, and our spirits were buoyed to be among them.
